We hold events
to thank our donors from time to time. The first event in 2025
will be on May 29th and will feature Dr. Bernadine Fong,
Director of Leadership Initiatives, Stanford Institute for
Higher Education Research. She will to talk to residents on
the topic of “Barriers to Effective Learning.”
The second event will a live program at the Koi Pond on Sunday
June 29th featuring remarks by previous grantees.
The first event in 2024 was on May 3 and featured a
presentation by Michael Kirst, Professor Emeritus at the
Stanford School of Education, who discussed “Improving
K-12 Education: Challenges and New Strategies ”. Here is a recording

The closing event was at the Koi Pond on June 24th June
featuring remarks by previous grantees and comments from some
donors. Here is a

We held two events during the 2023 campaign. The first event
was on May 18th and featured a excellent and insightful
presentation by SRC resident Hans Weiler, whose topic was
“Higher Education in a Changing World: Universities in the
U.S. and Abroad”. Here is a link to the video recording of the

Our second event took place at the SRC Koi Pond in late June
with wine and munchies, featuring remarks by various of our
grantees on how the Living Legacy grants are helping their
education and career development. This was a very interesting
and enjoyable event.
In 2022 we heard presentations on
"Today’s Challenges in College Admissions" from Mike Flynn,
Engenius Learning Centers
and
"Today’s Challenges in College Admissions, the
College/University Perspective" from Mike Devlin, Admissions
Director at Stanford University
Our final
2021 event was a Celebration Reception on June 17th,
during which we heard from some of the Scholarship
Recipients.
The speaker at our final 2020 event
(December 15th) was Janet Childs, the founder of Bill
Wilson Center’s Center for Living with Dying. Janet gave
us a powerful message with practical tips on being resilient,
no matter the circumstances.
